Srinagar, Nov 01 (KNO): The All India Medical Students Association (AIMSA), led by its Jammu & Kashmir Vice President, Dr. Mohammad Momin Khan, has submitted a representation to the Jammu & Kashmir Medical Council, seeking the withdrawal or reconsideration of its notice dated 30 October 2025 regarding the Compulsory Rotating Medical Internship (CRMI) duration for Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs). As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Dr. Momin Khan stated that the Council’s order is based on a misinterpreted NMC clarification dated 7 August 2025, which was a case-specific communication to the Andhra Pradesh Medical Council concerning Uzbekistan graduates not a general directive for all FMGs. He further emphasized that applying such a clarification universally and retrospectively is unjust and goes against the principles of fairness, equity, and legitimate expectation, urging the Council to maintain the one-year CRMI duration applicable to previous and subsequent FMG batches—(KNO)
